Qualification Criteria for Munster Graded Galas Dec 2012
New swimmers start at Grade C (generally they have NT – no times, but after a few galas they get their times in the various strokes). Swimmers continue at Grade C galas (irrespective of age) until they meet the criteria for Grade B in one of the 3 options below. Similarly to move from Grade B to Grade A.
Qualification Times to move from Grade C to Grade B Galas
Option 1 :
100 Freestyle: Female: 1.32 Male: 1.29
100 IM : Female: 1.47 Male: 1.43
Option 2 :
100 Freestyle plus 2 x 50m B Strokes (Back/Breast/Fly)
Back : Female: 48.00 Male: 46.00
Breast : Female: 53.00 Male: 52.00
Fly: Female: 54.00 Male: 51.00
Option 3 :
100 IM plus 2 x 50m B Strokes (Back/Breast/Fly)
Qualification Times to move from Grade B to Grade A Galas
To qualify for Grade “A” swimmers must achieve the qualifying times in 200m Frontcrawl and 200m IM or the 200m Frontcrawl and two of the other 100m events ( either the 100m Fly, or 100m Backstroke or 100m Breaststroke), or the 200m IM and two of the other 100m events ( either the 100m Fly, or 100m Backstroke or 100m Breaststroke)
Option 1:
200 Freestyle : Female: 2.50 Male: 2.45
And
200 IM : Female: 3.06 Male: 3.02
Option 2
200 Freestyle : Female: 2.50 Male: 2.45
And
100 Fly : Female: 1.40 Male: 1.38
OR
100 Backstroke : Female: 1.35 Male : 1.32
OR
100 Breaststroke Female: 1.42 Male: 1.40
Option 3
200 IM : Female: 3.06 Male: 3.02
And
100 Fly : Female: 1.40 Male: 1.38
OR
100 Backstroke : Female: 1.35 Male 1.32
OR
100 Breaststroke : Female: 1.42 Male: 1.40
Once Grade A is achieved swimmers should then be aiming to achieve IAG Division 2 National times and/or other National times for Irish S.C. / Dave McCullagh / Irish L.C. / IAG & Summer Championships.
