My journey with LSC began when I joined back in 2007. I swam competitively representing LSC for nine consecutive years. I earned a spot at the Limerick High Performance Centre in 2011 and trained with the squad until 2016. Over the years I broke several multiple Munster records and swam my way onto the podium at several national-level meets as both a junior and senior swimmer. During my career I was lucky to earn the opportunity to swim for Munster at the British and Portuguese National Championships and also to represent Ireland twice at the European Junior Open Water Championships and once at the World Junior Open Water Championships before retiring in 2016!
After hanging up my goggles I was pretty keen to give back to the sport that I’d belonged to for so many years, so it wasn’t long before I began coaching with LSC. Over the last few years I’ve also worked with Seal SC, UL Sport and Limerick Masters SC as a swim teacher and coach. I’m currently finishing my final year of my Sport & Exercise Science (BSc) at the University of Limerick. I’ve recently attained qualifications as a fitness instructor (NCEF) and strength and conditioning coach (ASCA) and I’m currently qualified as a level 1 swim coach with Swim Ireland and soon to be level 2.
